Application
WSCS supplies high-temperature industrial wheels for ovens, heat-treatment lines, drying equipment, coating systems and other thermal processing machinery. Wheel material, load capacity, hub, bearing and tread structure are evaluated according to continuous temperature, short-term peak temperature, operating time and installation position.
Customers can select from the existing high-temperature wheel range or submit a drawing, operating data or used sample for a custom solution.
Industrial ovens and drying chambers
Heat-treatment furnaces and transfer equipment
Powder coating and paint-curing lines
Metal, glass, ceramic and composite processing equipment
Hot-material carts, racks and mobile platforms
Conveyor and transfer systems near heat sources
| Wheel Type | Main Function | Key Requirements |
|---|---|---|
| High-Temperature Polyurethane Wheels | Carry carts and equipment in elevated temperatures | Temperature, load, runtime and floor |
| Heat-Resistant Polyurethane Wheels | Support applications requiring higher thermal capability | Continuous and peak temperature, derating and duty cycle |
| High-Temperature Load Wheels | Carry loads on mobile or rail-guided equipment | Dynamic load, deformation and bearings |
| High-Temperature Drive Wheels | Transfer torque in heated systems | Traction, torque, bonding and heat |
| Heat-Resistant Press-on Tires | Fit onto a compatible metal hub | Steel-band size, interference and hub temperature |
| Custom Thermal Equipment Wheels | Match non-standard dimensions and conditions | Drawing, load, temperature and quantity |
Ambient temperature: air temperature around the wheel.
Floor or rail temperature: heat transferred through the running surface.
Hub temperature: heat conducted through the axle or equipment.
Peak temperature: brief exposure when entering or leaving a hot zone.
Internal heat build-up: heat generated by repeated tread deformation.
A wheel suitable for brief heat exposure may not carry the same load during continuous operation. Temperature limits must be confirmed for the complete wheel assembly.
| Condition | Possible Problem | Selection Priority |
|---|---|---|
| Continuous heat | Softening and reduced load capacity | Material, derating and runtime |
| Heating and cooling cycles | Fatigue and bond stress | Thermal cycling and hub design |
| Hot floors or rails | Localized tread damage | Contact temperature and diameter |
| Heavy stationary loads | Flat spots and compression set | Hardness, width and parking time |
| Continuous movement | Internal heat build-up | Speed, tread thickness and resilience |
| Dust, scale or debris | Cutting and irregular wear | Tear resistance and maintenance |
| Oil or chemicals | Material degradation | Fluid type and exposure time |
Provide normal ambient and running-surface temperature, maximum peak temperature, exposure time and cooling time between cycles.
Include the cart, fixture, product and uneven load distribution. Thermal exposure can reduce allowable load, so room-temperature capacity should not be used without review.
State speed, daily travel, cycle frequency and how long the equipment remains stationary while hot. Long parking periods can increase flat-spot risk.
A load wheel, powered drive wheel, guide roller and press-on tire require different hubs, bearings and tread designs.
Identify steel rails, concrete, oven floors, joints, metal scale, oil, water and cleaning chemicals.
Tread material: must retain suitable strength at the required temperature.
Metal core: provides rigidity, torque transfer and dimensional stability.
Bonding interface: must tolerate thermal cycling, shear and hub expansion.
Bearings and bushings: must match load, speed and temperature.
Lubrication and seals: must withstand heat and process contamination.
Contact WSCS technical support for available product data, temperature guidance and project documentation.
As temperature rises, wheel hardness, deformation and load performance can change. Room-temperature load ratings should not be assumed to apply at maximum temperature. Review continuous exposure, peak exposure, speed, wheel size and cooling intervals together.
Outside diameter, width and tread thickness
High-temperature polyurethane formulation and hardness
Steel, cast-iron or other suitable metal cores
Bore, keyway, flange, bolt pattern and shaft connection
Bearings, bushings, seals and protected structures
Flat, crowned, grooved or flanged tread profiles
Resistance to thermal cycling, oil and contamination
Prototype, small-batch and repeat OEM production
Softening or deformation: review temperature, load, width and material.
Flat spots: check stationary time, diameter and compression behavior.
Cracking or chunking: inspect thermal cycling, debris and impact.
Delamination: review hub preparation, expansion, load and heat.
Bearing seizure: check lubrication, seals, temperature and alignment.
Uneven wear: inspect load distribution, runout and floor condition.
Inspection can include diameter, width, bore, hardness, runout, core dimensions and tread-to-metal interface. Validation should reproduce representative temperature, load, speed, parking time and heating cycles.

Prototype, small-batch and repeat production
No. The suitable limit depends on material, load, exposure time, dimensions, hub, bearing and operating cycle.
Elevated temperature can increase tread deformation and reduce load support. Project-specific load derating should be confirmed.
External heat comes from the air, floor or equipment. Internal heat is generated by tread deformation during movement.
Yes. A drawing is preferred, but a sample can be evaluated with the original dimensions, load and thermal conditions.
Send WSCS your drawing, load, continuous and peak temperatures, runtime and floor conditions to select an existing heat-resistant industrial wheel or develop a custom wheel for thermal processing equipment.
